Few people realize that washing a car in their driveway is environmentally unfriendly. All the water rinsed off the vehicle includes soap and a toxic mix of road film and residue. This all flows into the storm water sewer system where the water is untreated and ends up back in our rivers and Lake Michigan. This untreated water poisons aquatic life and creates other ecosystem havoc.  Also, driveway washing uses two to three times more water on average then a self service car wash.
